A serial killer is usually defined as someone who murders three or more victims over a period of time. Typically, serial killers are driven by some sort of gratification, whether that be dominance, control or fantasy, rather than 'practical' reasons such as finance or politics. Some infamous serial killers include Ted Bundy, Jeff Dahmer, David Berkowitz, and Dennis Rader.
